Bel Air, MD─The John Carroll School announces that the 6th annual Morning Star PowWow will take place at the school on Saturday, January 14. The powwow is a celebration of American Indian culture, featuring traditional music, dance, dancers wearing regalia, and a beadwork display. Food will be sold, along with a high-quality selection of traditional craftwork. The Master of Ceremonies of the 2006 powwow is Clayton Old Elk, a member of the Crow Indian Tribe of Montana. Head Dancers are Frank Little Bear and Marie Dancing Feather. Host drum is Little Horse. Invited drums are Black Horse Butte, Sweet Water, White Buffalo Singers, and Bum Kneez. Singers and drummers together are called “The Drum” and are by invitation only...
